By request, two additional sessions are being added to conference agenda. The first, is a special break out session and benchmarking meeting specifically for Auto Finance Creditors. This session will be invitation only for creditors due to the nature of the topics. The second new session will be directed to the Medical Industry. It will have two phases. The first portion of the session will be medical providers only. The second portion of the session will be open to all interested industry service providers in addition to the medical providers. FTC ANNOUNCES FIRST CASE HIGHLIGHTING APPLICATION OF DO NOT CALL PROVISIONS TO AFFILIATES
A seller of discount health and prescription drug cards and its telemarketer will pay civil penalties of $300,000 and $50,000, respectively, to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that they have been violating the Do Not Call (DNC) provisions of the Commission's Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR), and will be prohibited from similar conduct in the future, the agency announced today.

DEBT MANAGEMENT TELEMARKETERS SETTLE FTC CHARGES
A credit counseling service and related companies and individuals have agreed to pay $926,754 in consumer redress and civil penalties to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that they made false claims about their debt management program and violated the FTC's Do Not Call Rule.

COURT CLOSES BOOK ON CREDIT REPAIR RIPOFF
A federal judge has ruled that a bogus credit repair company and its owner violated the law by making false and misleading claims, and billing in advance for its services, and has ordered them to pay more than $322,000. This action was a result of "Project Credit Despair," a crackdown on 20 operations that deceptively claimed they could remove negative information from consumers' credit reports - even if that information was accurate and timely.
